Josh and Rebecca have been seperated. She was sent back to Lanley and he was tightly controled in Paris. Finally Josh is able to reunite with his Rebecca. As much because of her efforts as his. His immediate supervisors Bill Bellingham and Tim Anderson decide to use him on covering border crossings along the Iron Curtain temporarily as being the safest place to put him until they can put him out on a joint French-American operation. Sure enough on his first night out he has to fire his sniper weapon. Thankfully it is at a spot light and they don’t think anyone died. In Rome he is assigned an Italian and Greek inerpreter, only to find out that she is friend of Rebecca and a telepath. However, before his tour of the Iron Curtain is over, and now with his iInterprater, he is forced into killing again.
At this point you need to know a couple of things, Rebecca is kind of royalty, her mother is a Moroccan Princess (Muslim) and her father is a U.S. Ambassador (Catholic). Rebecca has been brought up in both religions. She has insisted that she be married under both. That means the Muslim wedding has to come before the Christian one for both to be valid without ending one of them. Her uncle the King has also insisted that she be married as a Princess of his court as he and his advisors say she is. Her daughters and granddaughters will also be subject to these rules. The boys lost all rights to the throne when Rebecca’s mother married a Christian. So they run off to Rabat, Morocco to be married by the King in his Royal symbolic “tent”. While there they also recrute two more telepaths, to work in their growing organiztion in Paris.
Then after a Christmas celebrated in a new French friends “summer cabin” in the woods outside Orleans, France Josh starts his first mission as a CIA field agent.
