This is an autobiographical collection of Poetry. The 1st poem in this collection was written when I was 17 years old. After submitting my poetry to several publishers when I was 19 years old and being rejected, I abandoned the pursuit for achieving other goals. I never gave up writing, as it was my way of dealing with life, especially physical and emotional abuse. Most of the poems in the collections were written during the years when I was a young woman married to an abusive spouse. Writing poetry helped keep me sane during those years. After my divorce, I’d write a poem from time to time and throw it into a file. After many years, my son encouraged me to pull out the file, edit the poems, and publish them. I had recently lost my mother and long-time companion. I was extremely depressed. The poems were posted to my blog and subsequently, I wrote a few more poems. This brought me out of the depression. It is my hope that these poems will find their way to other women who are experiencing life challenges and encourage them. Cover design by Sunde' Hilliard of Sunde' Marie Imagery
