Afflicted

Civilization has fallen, overrun by an unexpected outbreak that has swept the world. Those who are afflicted become ravenous monsters, roaming the earth in search of blood and mercilessly slaughtering any they come across. Some think it a disease, somehow curable; most label them as vampires, soulless creatures who deal only in blood and death. No one knows for certain.

For Mia, a young woman fleeing through the desolate remains of civilization with a handful of fellow survivors, it doesn't seem like things could get much worse. That is, until she's taken captive by a small group of the afflicted, lead by the enigmatic and dangerous Gabriel. As his prisoner, Mia quickly learns that many of the things she thought she knew about the vampires were wrong-- and discovers that nothing is truly as black and white as it seems...
