Jeremy has it pretty good. He has plenty of friends, lives in a large house in the suburbs, and has security for the future. At least he used to, before it all went to hell. Shortly after his fifteenth birthday, Jeremy is forced to leave everything he knows behind. Lonely and in an unfamiliar place, he wonders if things can ever be like they once were. He quickly learns, however, that nothing will ever be the same again. Time is running out for mankind, and it looks like nothing can prevent the coming destruction.

Shore lives in a close-knit community, nestled between a mountain and endless trees. Like the others in her village, she grew up learning about the People Before, and the catastrophe that wiped them out. Life is simpler now, absent of the technology and fast pace of that time. Although she has been told that nothing lies beyond the trees, Shore can't help but wonder about what could still be out there. When remnants of the old world finally appear, Shore will come face-to-face with the brutality of human nature.

Following two characters separated by time, After It Ends depicts the end of the world as we know it, as well as the uncertain future that follows.
