I started writing poetry in 2008. It began as an accident one day while sitting down just doodling with a pencil. Verses started coming together one after another and I have been doing it ever since. I am 63 and this is my first book. I hope it puts a smile on peoples faces. All my poems deal with love, happiness, giving kindness to one another, and sharing time with people you love and care of. In one form or another each one represents the goodness in this world from the heart. There is so much hurt, pain and hate, destruction in this world today. From wars in far off lands to our own backyards, when the towers fell. Someday this must all stop. If my poems can bring a little sunshine into the heart my writings have not been done in vain. My wish would be to take all weapons of war and turn them into farming tools. This world would be a lot better off. In closing I would like to repeat what Roy and Dale say at the end of their show: Happy trails to you until we meet again.

May God Bless,

Rick Widener
