Chambery, France: The Gem of the French Alps is a guidebook about the capital of Savoie (Savoy) in the French Alps. The city is not well known to tourists yet has a beautiful historic center, a long interesting history and was the seat of the Duches of Savoie for centuries. A little known fact is that the Shroud of Turn spent 70 years in Chambery. The Guidebook, which, based on my research is the only English language one in existence, tells you which attractions and places to visit, where to eat and sleep, what festivals to see, and the city's history. Moreover, it tells you what to visit in the environs of Chambery, including some amazing, little known festivals. There's much more to Chambery than the views and excellent ski resorts. There's also a section on Savoie wine and even a few Savoie easy-to-make recipes. This is the EGuidebook you need before visiting Chambery.
