I knew better than to let my best friend set me up with her boyfriend's boss, but seeing them together and hearing them from the next room each night had weakened my defenses.

I only needed sex. I didn't need a man for that. There were other inventions to help me out, but it was better with a hot body than cold plastic.

Evan was everything I ever dreamed of. He had tall, dark, and handsome nailed, but he was more than that. He was kind and generous. Adding to the sex that fogged my mind, my heart had no defense.

I tried to keep the faith and hoped I found the man for me. I was wrong. He was a boy like the ones before him. Only, this boy weaved into my soul. I wasn't sure how I was ever going to be rid of him. Running was my only option.
