Juliette, an Adelie Penguin, goes on her first trip to the Aves Convention. She travels with her mother, father, and her brother, Trysten. The Aves Convention is in the Gulf of Mexico where all kinds of birds meet and compete. Juliette and her family meet many new and interesting birds. They watch the running, flying and swimming races. She befriends Tyler a mallard duck, Rowi an kiwi, and twins Jose and Carmelita who are Lovely Contingas. She learns that birds come in all different types. Their feathers come in different colors and shapes and they have different legs, beaks, and wings. Some sleep during the day and some sleep, like Juliette, at night. Juliette learns that no type is better than another. She learns that our differences all compliment each other.
