The Killing Dixie volume collection is a chronological, day-to-day account of the activities of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War from its birth to its downfall. Not only is it a compilation of military campaigns and key battles on land and at sea, it is a comprehensive series that provides for the exploration of Confederate strategy, tactics and policy while serving as a time line journey through the lives of the nation’s leaders, soldiers and citizens during the war. Each volume covers different years of the life of the Confederacy during the Civil War.

The collection brings to life significant moments in the tragic experiment of the Confederate States of America coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the Civil War’s end. The collection begins with the year prior to secession to the pivotal event at Fort Sumter in 1861 where the Civil War begins to just beyond the end of the war after the Confederate surrender at Appomattox in 1865.
