Twenty-second-century private investigator Roger Hull is a haunted man. The abduction of his fiancée Violet—a talented dreamer gifted with the ability to telepathically create daydreams for clients—remains unsolved after three bleak years… and his amnesia stemming from an injury sustained during her abduction continues to shroud him in a dark fog.

A murder in a new case triggers hazy glimpses of his lost memories which Jasmine—a local dreamer—helps him salvage. Cracks then begin to appear in Violet’s cold case as more unexpected developments chip away at its surface.

Roger plunges back into the mystery of Violet’s disappearance, aided by his two assistants and Jasmine. Their risky search for answers ultimately lures them into a secretive and dangerous world lurking among the shadowy fringes of the dreaming industry.
