Poems of World War I

This anthology of poems written during the First World War brings together 26 poems from the period by 23 different poets, both the well known and those sometimes forgotten. The collection includes poetry from soldiers on the front lines and from those who remained at home. 

The poems have been put together according to the years in which they were written in the hope that it would help to provide a window on the events and feelings of society as the war progressed.

Some of the poets included in the collection are Wilfred Owen, Thomas Hardy, Rupert Brooke, John McCrae, Edward Thomas, Robert Nichols, Robert Laurence Binyon, Jessie Pope, Ivor Gurney, Alan Seeger  & Alice Meynell.
