Jimmy Goodwin, owner of the local supermarket in Brompton-in-the-Vale in the English countryside, has been in love with Alice Crocker, daughter of the town mayor, ever since they used to play cops & robbers in her grandma Brookridge’s back yard. Add in a string of murders and a long-standing feud between the Brompton Mustache Club and Beard Club and before long the rustic peace of the English countryside is but a distant memory.
