Something very unusual is happening in 6-year-old Josh Logan’s bedroom. Every morning when he awakes, he notices that letters from his alphabet chart have gone missing during the night. Determined to find out what exactly is going on, Josh decides to stay up. What he sees astounds him – the letters are leaving the chart and flying out the window! He tries to catch them as they whizz by but tumbles out of his room, right onto the back of a 6-foot centipede -Mr. Centipede - sleeping in the garden below. As one might expect, Mr. Centipede is none too pleased. But when Josh explains what is happening, the huge insect decides to help. And with the aid of an owl –Whobit – who follows in the air, the trio take off after the wayward letters. It’s not an easy journey, but when they finally catch up, they discover that the letters are plotting something very sinister indeed…
