The Best Thing

Mike Strauss... father, husband and salesman... was a regular guy among regular guys. One night changed everything and now he must navigate the choppy waters of love and life and become a better man than he ever imagined. Also included are three short stories featuring characters from “The Best Thing”. She looked at her older son.  Every year, Mike grew to look more and more like his father.  Even their personalities were very much the same.  Where Steven was always the quiet, studious and responsible one, Mike was outgoing and fun-loving.  The past few years with Stephanie had taken much of that out of Mike.  Marianne always appreciated how Mike had become a good provider and father, but she missed the old Mike- especially since her husband’s death three years ago. “You’ll be okay, Mikey,” Marianne said finally. “Maybe this is the best thing. Maybe this is a chance to have a new lease on life.” Mike had no choice but to agree.
