As a child, I would spend hours listening to my Grandad, or some other gentleman, tell outdoor stories. Many of these tales would have me literally rolling on the floor. As I grew older, I began to enjoy telling my own stories. Most of the stories I write contain a large percentage of truth. Growing up in rural South Georgia presents ample opportunity for a boy to experience things to later write about. I still have the scars from some of those stories. I could listen to Jerry Clower and Dave Gardner for hours. I will always have the greatest respect for Jerry Clower. Jerry could have you laughing so hard that you wouldn’t even realize that he was witnessing to you the entire time. He never had the need for foul language, yet he was extremely funny. Quail huntin’ mule is about an old mule that was like a childhood friend. The Canoe Trip is about an idea gone terribly wrong. Enjoy these, and the rest of them, until I can get some more on paper, and tell a friend about the book!
