Reporter Harry Sinclair is on assignment in the fishing village of Port Talbot where a land slide has killed several people. He expects to quickly finish his story then spend a few days relaxing at a beach front cottage. He's looking forward to peace and quiet, but as luck would have it Sinclair finds himself up to his neck in trouble.Undetrtow book cover As he questions locals on the background of the property where the land slide occurred he discovers that Tony Corso, the successful owner of a local construction company, might be responsible.

The further he digs the more apparent it becomes that half of Port Talbot is on the take. To make matters worse they're willing to use violence to protect their turf. Sinclair learns that Corso's influence reaches beyond local government to a Senator with possible ties to Nimbus Energy. Why would an energy company be interested in Port Talbot? When Sinclair answers this question he realizes that the pristine waters of the bay that support the town and its way of life are threatened, and he's the only one who knows the story.
