On September 26th, 2010 Flopsy Parker found his forever home when he was adopted for $7.50. To try and raise awareness to the plight of rabbit rescues, his mother created him a Facebook page. One by one he got more and more friends.
By January, his photos were featured on the websites of Animal Planet, Martha Stewart, and Petfinder. His message of adoption he spread on Facebook landed him on television and in newspapers. He was even perhaps the first rabbit ever quoted by the Wall Street Journal.

In July 2011, his mother launched a 501c non profit organization Baskets for Bunnies, Inc. to raise supplies for rabbit rescues. He inspired her to want to give other rabbits the life he had with her. He became the official spokesbunny.

In December 2011, they started Toys for Hops with the help of Pet Rabbit Toys. Together in 16 days, and the help of Flopsy's friends on Facebook they raised almost 2000 toys that were sent all across the US to rabbit rescues.

On the evening of December 28th,2011 Flopsy Parker passed away. His Facebook page had so many posts in the next 24 hours that it shut his timeline down on his page. His mother Gretta Parker wrote the Easter Bunny That Grew Up as not only a tribute to him, but to the people he touched, and to cotinue the legacy of rabbit adoptions that he started.
