With the threat of death snapping at her heels every day, Nichika finds a way to beat the arrogant, selfish, and eccentric Witch Oswald at a bet and gets him to take her as his apprentice as a last ditch measure to stay alive. Now bound to him by magical contract, Nichika joins Oswald and his talking wolf on the run from the Witch’s Council as she tries to find her way back to Earth. Though they’re a mismatched master-apprentice duo, they have no choice but to travel across magical lands filled with fantastical creatures to escape the constant danger closing in on them.
