Honore De Balzac (20 March 1799 – 18 August 1850) was a French novelist and playwright. He is one of founder of literary realism in European literature. His work had influence on many writers such as Marcel Proust, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Henry James, Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx. “La Comédie humaine” (“The Human Comedy”) is a collection of Honore De Balzac works which are describing French society in the time of the Restoration and the July Monarchy. 
“The Unknown Masterpiece” (“Le Chef-d’œuvre inconnu”) is a novel by Honore De Balzac, that was included in The Human Comedy and published in 1846. This story about young Nicolas Poussin who was yet unknown as paintist. He saw the painter Porbus who was accompanied with master Frenhofer.
