“Shut up! Are you serious? She did what?”

            I glanced up from the music I was reading to glare at my roommate, Bella.  She glanced at me and mouthed s0rry before going back to listening to whomever it was she was talking to.

            “Are you sure?” She was quiet a moment. “You know what that means, right?”

            I tuned her out and pulled my headphones back over my ears. Bella was always getting excited over one thing or another. I couldn’t keep up with her most times. Besides, I had to work on this music.  I had too much to do other than listen to her jabbering on.

            “Okay. Yeah. I got it. Okay. Bye.” She hung up and turned to face me. “Oh my God!” she squealed. “You’ll never guess what Brie just told me.”

            With a sigh, I turned off my iPod and lowered the headphones around my neck. I wasn’t going to get any more studying done until she told me whatever it was she had to tell me. There was no point in trying. I knew from past experience.

            “What is it?” I said, knowing she wanted me to ask her.
