“Torn Edges” is a captivating mystery story linking contemporary Glasgow with a period of recent Irish history, the 1922 Civil War.

Following a murder in Glasgow, a search into the family past is triggered off by the finding at the crime scene of a family heirloom gold sovereign. The search is enhanced and made more intriguing by the discovery of an old photo of Uncle Pat wearing a soldier’s uniform. Pursuing these discoveries leads them back to learn about hitherto unknown events around the Irish Civil War.

The revelations contained in the book will surprise many of the massive Scots Irish community and their descendents, who tend to have at best only a shadowy knowledge about this period of Irish history which many prefer to overlook in favour of the more heroic struggle against the English.

Ringwood Publishing are confident that “Torn Edges” will prove both a very entertaining and rewarding read, as well as being a major contribution to a better understanding  of  a difficult period for all Scots interested in the history of both countries.
